Running and Holding – Backgammon

Running game is a strategy involved in the backgammon game. This type of game requires players to move their checkers swiftly. The main strategy of this kind of game is to get ahead of the opponent in the current game, once ahead in the race the player has a tactical advantage. Holding game is a similar strategy where player advances and places few checkers in the opponents board as the game advances. Here the player can obtain an advantage by hitting the opponent and then continue the game as a running game which can change the whole game to the players side
